Dr. Allison Woody  joined the team at Shelter Island Veterinary Hospital in January 2012.   She is a native of Colorado.  Dr. Woody earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Animal Science in 1994 and went on to earn her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree in 1999, both from Colorado State University. Dr. Woody has worked in Arizona, Colorado and California with food animals, companion animals, shelter animals and exotic species. She has always been interested in the dental and oral health of animals and how it affects their overall wellbeing.  In 2008 she began a formal educational program to specialize in the area.  She offers advanced procedures such as root canals, crowns, orthodontic adjustments, periodontal surgery, jaw fracture repair, laser treatment of stomatitis and other special procedures.  When not working, Dr. Woody enjoys hiking, traveling and spending time with her husband, son and Great Dane "Splash".

Dr. Woody is available on Wednesdays for consultations regarding your pet's dental health.
